Cheese Rolling!!??

Cheese rolling is probably one of the simplest sports out there. A round Double Gloucester cheese is rolled from the top of a hill, while competitors chase after it. The first individual across the finish line at the bottom of the hill wins! This is always the cheese of course. The competitors try to catch the rolling cheese but this is a rare act for 2 reasons! One is that it has a 1 second head start, and 2 is that it can reach speeds up to 112 Km/Hr! I don't know how much that is in MPH but it sure sounds fast! Apparently this is a dangerous sport as well! People go flying down hill, running and rolling! In fact, in 1997, the cheese took a wrong turn down the hill and accidentally injured a spectator!!! Wow... I'd hate to be that guy! Well, luckily that sport isn't as big in the United States, but if it were lots of people would be rolling after some stinky cheese!

Fistball

Fistball is not well covered by the media. Probably because it is a lot like volleyball. The only real differences are that the court size is much bigger than a volleyball court, and that the ball can bounce. This sport is an old sport that’s practiced all over the world. It is almost a combination of volleyball and tennis. Like volleyball, the purpose of the sport is to hit the ball with your fist or arm, but like tennis, the ball has to land in the opponent’s half. After passing the net, the ball may be contacted up to three times. Their are five players on each team. The sport can be played indoors and outdoors. Fistball is actually a sport that is featured in The World Games! This seems like a cool sport. I think this game would be best if played at a BBQ or in a backyard setting. This is would be a great way to bring any family together for food and fun! Try it out and tell me what you think of it!

Zorbing!!!

I would hardly consider Zorbing a sport but it looks like a lot of fun. Or at least it sounds like fun! When zorbing a participant, or if you want to bring a friend along for some extra wacky fun, two are put inside a big inflated plastic ball. Then they are rolled down a hill. For some fun on an extreme level, you can add water to slip and slide around inside of the inflated ball! The riders inside the ball are called zorbonauts. If you’ve seen or heard of Zorbing, then bet you dont know that it was originally invented so that people could “walk” on water (because Zorbs floats)! Soon after, the original inventors of the zorb, Andrew Akers and Dwayne van der Sluis, found that it was just as fun, if not more, to do on land! I completely agree! This is the kind of activity that has people falling over for fun!

Baby Cry Sumo!!!!

As if huge men wrestling in diapers isn’t weird enough, now we have this! Baby cry sumo is pretty much this: sumo wrestlers get some babies and they shake the babies and yell at them until they cry, the first baby to cry is the winner. So you may be thinking what a cry baby, but I know for a fact that if a three hundred pound man was shaking and yelling at me, I would cry too!!!

Chess Boxing!

Chess Boxing is a very popular, unknown sport! The rules are very simple and go like this: A game consists of up to eleven alternating rounds of Boxing and Chess sessions. They starting with a four-minute chess round then three minutes of boxing. Between rounds there is a one minute pause, during this time competitors change their gear. The style that they play chess is speed chess, where each competitor has a total of twelve minutes for the whole game. Combatants may win in 4 different ways, which are: knockout, checkmate, a judge's decision or if the opponent's twelve minutes of chess time runs out. If a contestant does not make a move in the chessround, he will be issued a warning by the referee and he must then make a move within the next 10 seconds. Warnings may eventually result in disqualification. A cartoonist, named Enki Bilal, came up with this game. This game is all together, a game I've never heard of, and honestly, I'm not sure I ever want to hear of it. I give this game a 2 out of 10... Yes, If you are that genius, Bobby Fischer, then this is the one sport you wouldn't be picked last in. Knockout by checkmate in the first round... What a superstar! For everyone else, try to figure out something better to do with your lives.
